If you guys caught my beach vacay essentials post, then you’ll already know how much I love Schick’s Intuition f.a.b. razor—it’s part of my everyday routine, not to mention when I’m travelling and on the go! I love its innovative design (it shaves forward and backwards) so I wasn’t surprised that they challenged me to try something out of the box! Best of all, it’s for a chance to win too!
June 1st is Dare Day, a day when you can try something you don’t normally do or that stretches your boundaries! To celebrate a day where things can go another direction (just like the Intuition f.a.b. razor does), Schick is hosting a giveaway on its Instagram page where you can tag a friend and challenge them to do a dare to be entered to win a $1,000 shopping spree + an Intuition f.a.b. swag bag!
In the spirit of the day, I had to rack my brains for a good dare for myself, which is surprising because the one that finally came to mind is one I have to deal with almost every day! I have a legit fear of bridges—I’m not really scared of heights but something about walking across a bridge makes me really nervous. I can bike across them no problem, not nervous about driving across them, but walking across them? Literally makes my palms start sweating immediately just thinking about it!
But whether it’s my runs or just getting across to my friends’ places across the water more easily or getting to see a beautiful bridge while travelling (think Porto, Portugal!), this is a fear I’ve definitely wanted to get over and so I figured that on a day that’s all about doing something you normally wouldn’t do, it’s high time I just do it on the biggest bridge in the city!
Me and Alicia (who’s also not a bridge fan so we decided to do this together) suited up and started across the bridge on a beautiful day. Honestly, once we got out to the mid point, it’s just so beautiful and the views are so insane that you kind of forget about the parts that are scary (or at least, scary to me—the shaking, the cars whipping by, etc).
I like to try to do little things that kind of scare me every once in awhile or just try something new because it not only keeps things fresh, but it helps me grow as a person and makes my world bigger! After tackling Lions Gate Bridge, I feel like I’m so much less scared of crossing over the smaller ones that I’ve routinely avoided but that would make life a lot easier if I could cross them! In fact, the same day I went for a little waltz across Cambie Street Bridge and felt so much more at ease about it!
It’s also just a nice reminder that if life goes in another direction without you even initiating it, that’s what life’s all about—rolling with it and growing with it! What would you do for Dare Day and can you think of a friend or loved one that you would challenge? Make sure you tag them in Schick’s Insta page to be entered to win that unreal shopping spree!
