I tend to limit myself to sequins only one special evening a year year: New Year’s Eve! While I typically go for a more all-over sequin look (see Case 1 and Case 2), I love the idea of doing something more subtle this year, like this stunner from Barefoot Contessa with just a touch of sequins at the cuffs! Quite frankly, this is the first year that I don’t have some clearcut plans in place for NYE. As a typical Type A, I thought this would get to me a bit more than it has – I kind of like the fact that it will be a bit more casual (likely popping in and out of a couple different parties), as opposed to the full force that last year’s party was (we hosted at our place and needless to say, as fun as it was we [and our space] felt pretty rough in more ways than one the next day).
This little number from Barefoot Contessa will get me wherever I need to go, and I love that in the new year, I can wear it with a leather jacket and ankle boots and it will still be a perfect piece for parties or nights out!

I love this dress – sequins are very sophisticated here. They tend to takeover the whole look if not used with elegance – precaution. I will probably wear vintage LBD with a little sparkle on it. Have a great and fun night!
