From laid-back Caffé Cittadella to charming Beaucoup Bakery to today’s jaunt to the hip Elysian Room on West 5th, my hood of Fairview is literally brimming with amazing cafes and bakeries. I’m a big believer in not giving up all of your vices (being perfect is boring), so while I’m on top of my nutrition and fitness, I just can’t quit coffee. It really is one of my great loves in life and I’m so happy I got to share some of my favourite local haunts, including today’s last visit! While Elysian has plenty of charm and is a beautiful space to hang out in, it’s really their commitment to quality that has made me a devotee. They source their milk (and even their nut mylk!) locally, supporting high quality and independent suppliers, investing in our local economy. They also roast their own beans and their espresso is truly unreal.
Dressed in a boho-casual look well-suited for the cafe’s hip vibe, my makeup was done by the incredible Katie and all of these snaps were shot by the talented Britney. I have to give them both a massive thank you for collaborating with me on this fun feature – it really felt like a homegrown collab, from the places featured to the people I got to work with, and even to many of the clothes I was wearing (here’s looking at you Gentle Fawn!). I may be someone with an insatiable case of wanderlust, but I always feel so grateful for Vancouver being my home – it truly is such an incredible place with so much amazing talent right here in the city.
And now, after cranking out some more work and getting to my emails, I think I’ll go enjoy the city!
