Bloom Where You’re Planted

Like most everyone else, I tend to fall into the same seasonal patterns year after year – a flurry of activity in the fall, nesting in the winter, kicking things up a notch again in the spring and then effectively living on the beach in the summer, caring about little else other than reading my book, playing guitar, getting some sun and going for a swim. I had coffee with a couple of my favourite girls recently and it was such a relief to hear that they felt the same way lately (slash it was good to know that I’m not a completely lazy bum) – click through to read more!
Summer not only naturally gets you outside more, but I find it also really affords a lot more time to reflect and reset. Other than being drawn away from my laptop more often because of our beautiful weather, getting a chance to reevaluate a few things by disconnecting has been really important this summer, something which Alicia and Jen agreed was so needed during this season over coffee the other day.
In all honesty, I have had a summer full of big changes so far and more are on the way, so this period of calm has been so well-timed. I left a great position to explore the world, I’m about to book a months-long trip to Europe and all in all, I’m taking a big leap away from what has been a pretty stable period to really jump into the great unknown. As life progresses (and in my opinion, gets a whole lot more exciting) I’m so excited to take the blog along for the ride, but more than anything, really looking forward to seeing how this space expands and potentially changes as things evolve.
Before then, I’m basking in the calm of the summer – sand, surf and sunscreen.

Your post really made me think. My year peaks in activity during the summer and winter and I regroup during the spring snd fall. I've always felt guilty during the quieter periods but I guess regrouping is always good. Enjoy the summer! http://www.clementinebuttercup.blogspot.co.uk
