Valentine’s Day Beauty Tutorial
Happy Valentine’s Day! I got quite a few requests for a how-to for this rose-adorned chignon that Kahlia Adams created on me for this week’s Glitter Guide Valentine’s Day post, so I went straight to the source to get the full tutorial on this romantic look for tonight’s celebration with your significant other or loved ones! Get the full tutorial (plus an extra how-to on this natural beauty look) after the jump!
{ rose-adorned loose chignon }
What you’ll need:
Bobby pins
Hairspray
Flowers with an inch of stem
Instructions:
1. Curl hair with a 1-inch curling iron & brush out to achieve soft waves.
2. Divide the hair into 3 sections, 2 front and one back.
3. Grab one front section of the hair and pull out a few pieces around the face.
4. Loosely twist the section away from your face, adding in pieces as you twist.
5. Secure the twist with a bobby pin and repeat steps 2-4 on the other side.
6. Take the remaining hair and messily pin it under.
7. Add the flowers along the twists and secure with pins.
8. Finish with hairspray.
{ rosy and defined beauty look }
Instructions:
1. Create a base with your go-to foundation.
2. Conceal any red areas, blemishes or sallowness.
3. Set with a touch of powder.
4. Using a tawny blush or light bronzer, sweep your brush
along your cheekbones and temples.
5. Blend a rosy blush directly on your cheekbones.
6. Highlight atop your cheekbones and extend to your temples.
7. Brush your eyebrows in place and define with a powder.
8. Blend a champagne eyeshadow across your entire lid.
9. Blend a taupey, rosy hue into the crease of your eyelid.
10. With a dark brown shadow, define lower lash line.
11. Line lower waterline with a nude, highlighting pencil.
12. Curl lashes and sweep two coats of mascara.
13. After doing top lashes, lightly stroke mascara on lower lashes.
14. Swipe berry-toned lipgloss on.
Et voilà! A super romantic, exceptionally femme look to ring in a particularly romantic holiday.
I’m headed to my cabin with Matt to catch up on some sleep after a whirlwind but incredible vacation in Florida – can’t wait to do a whole lot of nothing! Sending you all lots of love today – hope you have a great Valentine’s Day!
