Banana Republic x Issa
Dress c/o Banana Republic, DVF heels, H&M bag, hat c/o Gap Canada,
You’d have to be living under a rock to not be familiar with the famous Issa dress Kate Middleton wore for her engagement announcement – the sapphire blue number immediately sold out everywhere, spurring a gazillion copycats. If any of you fell in love but missed out on a chance to scare the original, then you’re in luck…Banana Republic and Issa recently collaborated on a beautiful line including the famed dress, which I was lucky enough to receive pre-launch! You can see some of the pieces on Refinery29 here.
I decided to mix mine up a bit from the new mama’s polished take on it: a straw hat and loose braid gave it a summer-apropos casual vibe, tying the bow in the back lends more of a peasanty vibe and a pop of fuchsia gives it an air of playfulness. Definitely comfortable but slightly more elevated than the uniform I detailed yesterday.
On another note, it’s a very special guy’s birthday today – my boyfriend Matt’s turning the big 2-6 today!!! We’ve somehow wound up spending a fifth of our lives together and I’m very grateful to have such an equally weird, wonderful person in my life. Wish the boy a happy birthday!
What a gorgeous & classic look – love everything about this!!

You look great in that dress Alexandra – it seems like the perfect little black dress for a night out, but great for the office as well!
Happy Birthday to Matt! Hope he has a great day!

One can never have enough fabulous LBDs in their wardrobe! I love the kimono sleeves on this dress. And the cut and shape is very flattering. And I particularly like your dainty, delicate jewelry.

This wrap dress is perfect! It cuts so well to create an effortlessly flattering shape. The braid is so cute, makes me wish my hair was long enough to do that too!

I like the simple necklace you chose with this gorgeous dress. Great choice for summer heat. It's not unlike the types of jewels you might see the Duchess herself wear.
