Float On
Though yesterday’s post is the uniform I usually opt for during the week, this oversized-sweater-and-skinnies combo is a close second. It’s especially useful to have these pieces in your wardrobe during Vancouver winters, when the torrential rain really makes you crave cozy pullovers.
Though we’ve been really lucky all of a sudden with this wave of sunshine, that doesn’t mean I didn’t welcome this big comfy Left on Houston sweater with open arms! I used to be terrified of cowl or turtlenecks (it’s the first thing you learn as a chesty girl – add bulk around your chest or neck and you’re pretty much creating a huge torpedo effect), the drapiness of this sweater and its dark charcoal colour keep the “torpedo” effect at bay. I also am loving the trapeze silhouette – perfect for skinnies.
On another note, do you know want to know what I’ve decided? This year is the year I finally take a hot air balloon ride! I’ve always been obsessed with them, not to mention I have dreams every other night of me somehow floating or flying in the sky. I’m thinking this summer…now I just need to find someone who’s not scared of heights to keep me company and take pictures (duh) and I’m set! Has anyone ever done it??
Oh my gosh a hot air balloon ride sounds so scary but also so exciting! I don't have a fear of heights but I think I might get a little claustrophobic.
Ive always wanted to ride in one!

Eeeeeee! Being ever so slightly scared of heights, the thought of a hot air balloon ride is pretty terrifying! I feel like it would be an amazing experience, though, so I really hope you have fun!
Great lipstick and heels! I love that they match~
The Occasional Indulgence
Always wanted to take a hot air balloon ride! I think I did it at a carnival as a kid, but it didn't float very far since there was a rope keeping it connected to the ground. I hope you have fun when you do it!
I have the same shoes, but I think I have to get used to wearing them. 4 inches is a little tall for me and I'm just terrible at walking in heels! lol

I love this look, this sweater has the perfect amount of draping! The pop of colour with the shoes is wonderful too. I want to take a hot air balloon ride, that sounds so great 🙂

Love those skinnies!! The texture and dye is great, they add subtlety to the grey palette. Your matching shoes and lips are perfect and this outfit is so easy yet still well put together – something most Vancouverites can't be bothered with!!

Ooooh, a fashion blog post from a hot air balloon. Brilliant idea! One of my besties used to be a balloon chaser with one of the balloon companies in Langley, and when I lived there, I used to see them overhead ALL the time. No particular desire to go up though, 🙁
Great silhouette today!

Hot air balloon rides are so much fun! I've done it twice, and it's not scary or claustrophobic at all (even though you do get crammed into those baskets). Definitely a must do. On another note, you pull off that look really well! 🙂

I love your pumps. Paired with such a nice laid back look, perfect. Post 2004 I never thought I'd want pointy pumps on my feet again, but they are definitely back! It all comes around again…
Good luck for finding a hot air balloon buddy. Never something that would appeal to me (heights are not my thing) but it's great that you want to do it.
Yikes, after what I have heard that happened in Egypt, I have decided never to go on one. Before I wanted to though…now I'm too chicken I guess, haha.
Oh, how exciting with your new job! What kind of job is it? Good luck, I'm sure you'll do wonderfully!
Thank you for your support on my blog!
You look wonderful in these photos, I wish we would have that much susnshine already. We received another 13cm of snow last weekend, so even though it's sunny, it's still winter – in March!
