Though I’m so happy we’re finally getting some sun here in Van, it’s been freezing lately. Well, freezing in Vancouver terms. But anyway, I took Bailey for a walk yesterday and ended up getting half a block before I started quite literally shaking, and being the loser I am when it comes to the cold, I turned around, went home, put on six more layers, and tried again.
In other words, I’m pretty much constantly a quaking and sniffling mess these days (it’s pathetic, really), hence the huge men’s cashmere sweater, aka my favourite piece ever. I bought it for Matt years ago as “a present,” i.e. I knew it wasn’t really his style and that within time, he’d forget it in his closet and I could steal it so that it would be MINE, all mine. And that’s exactly what happened. I quite literally carry this sweater around with me like a security blanket: it’s always in my handbag on planes, on the way to the cabin, even when I have a bunch of meetings and feel like being comfy in between. Not to take this into completely morbid territory, but if I had to pick a piece to go to my coffin with, it’d be this sweater. But yeah now I’m creeped out, I get super scared about anything death-related (unless it’s a mobster movie, love them), so moving on…
As boyish as this sweater is because it was designed for, you know…boys, my flirty little Wilfred skirt and beautiful new necklace from Sira & Mara thankfully lend a little air of femininity to the whole look. I love how this necklace makes a statement but could literally be worn with anything – the hallmark of a truly solid piece. Will definitely be wearing it lots more in posts to come.
HAPPY FRIDAY everyone! Apparently I’m seeing Gaga tonight, which is random but should be interesting! I’ll be that person who just keeps silently mouthing “apple, apple, apple” (did you ever learn that trick as a kid?) cause I don’t know any of her new songs, and I’ll be dressed in a meat dress of course. Sooo, I guess I’ll fill you in on Monday! Hope you have an amazing weekend!
Ooh I wish I could wear cashmere, I'm allergic, which is quite unofrtunate. That sweater looks amazingly comfortable though. I would totally carry it around with me if I had one as well. Have a good weekend.
