My laptop has officially finally puttered out. It’s been on its last legs for awhile now, but I was really hoping it would pull through this week for Deck Your Closet preparations. Thankfully, I have a very techy and kind boyfriend who not only happens to have an unnecessarily large amount of computers hanging around, but who’s also nice to share some of the excess with me.
Anyway, if I’m a bit absent on some of your blogs, that’s why! That and the fact that we are crazy busy and also on our last legs of The Style Common‘s Deck Your Closet journey…can’t believe it’s already this Sunday! We were packing up gift bags and sorting through gifts with purchase goodies last night and let me tell you, I almost wish I could take the shopper’s role for this event. And by that I mean I definitely wish I could switch spots with one of the event’s ticket-holders…not only would I get a ton of great swag, but I wouldn’t have shed like…8 tears (I counted) the other night after saying goodbye to some of my favourite pieces. Clothes really bring out the maternal side in me (not really kids though…especially not the one who nearly spilled her purple “grape” drink on me the other day…you know who you are).
It’s 2 a.m. as I write this so I’m not going to bother going through my emails to steal Jen T’s username and password to check sales, but last I heard, the first time slot was nearly gone and the second time slot was going quickly too – make sure you buy in advance because tickets won’t be available at the door (unless we get really holiday-cheermeister-ish and decide to release a few extra for major procrastinators, but I can’t guarantee benevolence). In other words, buy now Vancouverites!
PS does anyone else have this Bruno Mars song stuck in their head and/or does anyone else have a compulsive need to bounce (like physically bounce, not peace out playas) when you hear it? I wasn’t crazy about him until this song, but then I saw the live performance on SNL and now I’m creepy weird about Bruns. I’ll probably be sick of it in a day and a half from over-play.
You look beautiful and I'm not surprised your event is filling up quick! I'm sure it
L be a huge success!

Love your outfit. I'm in love with the elbow-patch trend. So chic!
I watched the Victoria Secret Fashion Show the other nite and that song has been playing non-stop in my head. What a great performer Bruno Mars is 🙂
You are seriously the queen of layering – somehow when I try to put this many pieces on, I end up looking dumpy…but you pull it off so well. Those earrings are gorgeous 🙂

I am loving all the layering here, you are the layering queen I must say!! The soft colours are gorgeous on you!
I bet it's been super stressful preparing for that event, it sounds like it will turn out amazingly though 🙂 Sorry to hear about the laptop, that's the worst, but maybe you'll get one for christmas?

You look stunning my dear! Loving the elbow patches on that cozy sweater. And I saw your post title and now the song is totally stuck in my head…. And I'm overplaying it as well after his performance on the VS Fashion Show. I'm so sad that I won't be able to make it to your lovely event to shop you & the girls closets, but I'm sure it will be just amazing. Hope to attend something else in the future by Style Common 😉 Have a lovely day!
