Joe Fresh x The Style Common

December 28, 2012

Top & heels c/o Joe Fresh, jeans c/o James Jeans, bag c/o Mary Nichols
blazer c/o Spank, necklace c/o Brooklyn Designs

Technically, I’m kind of a hybrid between an hourglass and an athletic body type, but even with my uniquely extreme proportions, I’ve always identified with the sporty dressing of tall, Amazon-like fitness fanatics like Cameron Diaz (even if I’m a few inches short of her height).

What’s more, all I have on the event calendar for what remains of the holiday season are casual parties: whether it’s drinks with my friends or a house party for New Year’s, there’s never really been a better time to tap into the boyish yet sleek aesthetic that athletic body types pull off so well.

Since this Joe Fresh sequin-adorned top kind of does the talking on its own, I thought I’d keep it streamlined elsewhere with my outfit: a cropped and fitted blazer, coated skinnies, elegant heels, a basic bag and minimal jewelry kept the focus on the top, making it an easy yet standout look for a casual get-together!

Check out my fellow The Style Common girls Alicia, Jen T. and Jen P. for more sequins-styling inspiration and tips on dressing for your body type!

Well you know how I love Joe Fresh, and this sequin tank is no exception! I like how you've styled it, right down to the rolled up cuffs on your jacket. You always dress to flatter your shape, strong and curvy!

Love this collaboration with Joe Fresh! They're seriously one of my favourite stores with such great prices. Love the sequins; super festive and super cute. I wish I could say my body type was athletic since it would imply that I do some sort of physical activity… but who am I kidding? I think I envy your work ethic the most!
