Sorry things have been a bit silent around here – as I mentioned earlier this week, I headed up to my cabin for a little girls’ getaway Wednesday and was planning on scheduling a couple posts. But then my cabin’s wifi decided to completely fizzle out and I couldn’t fix it aaaaaand I ended up just spending two days with no reception, no internet. Thing is, it was actually just what I needed…it gave me a chance to completely rest up after Deck Your Closet, which was both exciting and amazing and exhausting all at the same time. In other words, a couple days of wine sipping, canoeing, laughing, eating and endless Harry Potter marathons was just what the doctor ordered, and it was all the more relaxing sans Internet.
I may share more photos from Deck Your Closet down the road, but for now, here’s a sampling from the amazing photographers we had on board: Kate Dahlgren, Andrea Gurniak and Christie Graham, thank you times a million! All such talented, amazing photographers, and all stunners to boot (cameras and pretty girls seem to always mix for some reason).
Thank you to all of our incredible sponsors, but an extra special shout-out to the Four Seasons Vancouver (particularly Todd and Kate), who we are so grateful to for partnering up with us! Also a huge thank you to Erin Gerlach, an amazing makeup artist and blogger who worked with us throughout the day, the Blanche Macdonald students on hand helping with hair and makeup, Revlon Canada, London Drugs, and so many more! Of course, I wouldn’t have been able to do it without my fellow The Style Common members – love all those ladies to bits, they’re all such inspiring and amazing women to work with. And finally, thank you thank you thank you to Christie Horne, our event planner who came on board halfway through the planning process, picked up like she’d always been there, and then pulled everything together so amazingly!
Last but not least, thank you to everyone who came – we are so thrilled with the feedback we’ve been getting and we can not wait to plan our next event! Hopefully you all got some great swag and new finds 🙂
I’m sure you’ve all heard of the tragedy that happened in Newtown yesterday – there’s just too much to say and feel about what happened, so to keep it short, I just want to end this post by sending every thought and prayer I have to the families, friends and anyone else affected by this senseless act of violence. I can not even begin to imagine what those affected are going through right now.
