Step Into My Office, Baby
Skirt c/o Silver Daisy Designs, blazer & mittens c/o Spank, Old Navy sweater,
bag c/o Mary Nichols, necklace c/o Brooklyn Designs, Sam Edelman booties
Sometimes, shoots just don’t go your way. Either the lighting is finicky, your outfit doesn’t photograph properly, or in this particular instance, a freak rain storm unleashes above your head a few minutes into your shoot (hence the raindrops speckling my blazer in that last shot and overall drenched rat look). If you’re lucky though, you’ll at least get out of there with a few decent shots…in this case, there were three.
It’s a bit of a shame because I really didn’t get to showcase this lovely new knit skirt from Silver Daisy Designs (check out their online shop here). Anyway, this look was all about taking certain elements that are generally office apropos (a pencil skirt silhouette or blazer) and channeling them in a way that’s very fall-esque and casual. What’s more, the forest green of this Old Navy knit gave me a great opportunity to show off this lovely emerald green gold necklace from Brooklyn Designs as well!
Hope you have a great Tuesday!
you are beautiful! Love this outfit.
This is a skirted look I think I would actually wear. How chic is that cable knit sweater skirt! And that blazer is the most perfect blazer I have ever seen! The colors all work and are warm yet fall ready! This is one look I really would wear! And it is a shame to hear about the rain but your three good photos are so lovely!

Oh, the freak rain storm during a photoshoot… I can totally sympathise, pally, it happened to me so many times in Vancouver. On the bright side, you still go three gorgeous shots. That turquoise colour looks stunning on you!

I know you say you didn't really get a chance to showcase it but I think the skirt looks really, really lovely in these shots…it looks like an amazing piece!

I can completely relate to photo shoot disasters – the wind is a serious problem for us here in NY and I'm a little unsure of how the winter will go with all the snow we get. But, on the bright side, you did get a few shots and I'm loving this cable knit skirt…looks so cozy and I like the longer length on you!

I love the skirt. How is the fit after wearing for some hours? wear sweater dresses for sometimes can become loose in certain areas on my body. Your outfit just screams "I'm comfy yet polished".

Gorgeous! I love that you took more dressy pieces and gave them a fall/every-day look. And I'm glad this stunner of an outfit got at least three good shots, what a bummer about the rain. Our recent bad luck was our camera battery dying in the middle of our shoot. Hope you're well & fingers crossed to seeing you soon too. xo V
oh the lovely predictable weather in vancouver! The skirt is so unique. Would love to match it with a couple things in my closet.

I love hunter green for fall- it's such a beautiful color on brunettes (lucky us!), and your skirt is too cute- a great fall alternative to a regular pencil skirt!

First- I completely know how you feel. I can only do photos on weekends thanks to my lovely work schedule and not every weekend is sunny and perfect for photos. Being out and getting rained on is the worst. These photos are simply stunning though so you have nothing to fear.
Second- that knit sweater skirt is gorgeous!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!
