Silent Pictures
cuff c/o Lia Sophia, Club Monaco skirt, vintage belt
So I actually had this “sun-kissed” beauty tutorial planned for you today but decided to scrap it…videos are hard. My main deterrent was really just my voice – I guess it’s not the worst voice out there, but it definitely makes me cringe every time I have to transcribe an interview/listen to my voicemail greeting/watch a video of me speaking. Whenever I listen to myself in interviews I always just think I sound like a complete b if you know what I’m sayiiiiiiiiin.
SO, just consider yourself lucky…I saved you from it today and gave you a silent image instead. What’s more, since the video didn’t work out, I got a chance to snap this lovely Banana Republic top from their Desk to Dinner collection. The aptly named collection is basically aimed at the working woman who wants to transition their looks from the office to play without having to pack a duffle bag to work, and if this shirt is any indication, they pulled the whole concept off perfectly. I love the midnight blue shade of the shirt and its lace texture, and yet if I did ever work in an office setting that required a more conservative dress code, it would be covered up enough to be appropriate.
Happy Thursday everyone!
I like how your broke up the photo.
I love Banana Republic. That is easily a desk to dinner top!
I really like your belt, bracelet, and bag, too!

I absolutely love this outfit, that skirt is so awesome. I really hate the way I sound when I hear my voice on video too, it does not sound the way I think it sounds!!!

You are just stunning! Love the top! I think everyone hates the sound of their own voice. I always think,"Is that really what I sound like?!" NO, it can't be so.

I know what you mean. I dislike my voice in any type of records :/ It's doesn't sound me, well as I hear it.
Lace top is so delicate and feminine, just great piece to have. Colour is gorgeous.and I can't wait to see how you gonna style it another outfit, because it's so versatile.

I TOTALLY know what you mean about hating your voice when you actually hear it outside yourself. I think I sound so much more childish when I hear myself and I hate it. Really love the Roots bag; such a classic that goes with so many things.

AH! I have totally had the same experience when I thought about doing a video… I hate my voice, I think I sound like a 5 year old mixed with minnie mouse, not good. Love the sleeves on this top- I think and I really am loving the accessories 🙂
Aw pally, I think it's retty common for people to hate hearing their voice transcribed – I still cringe every time I see myself on the #VanBloggerSale video! But the good news is, you debuted this lovely look instead; must admit to particularly admiring your skirt, I wonder why that is 😉 Great minds clearly think alike! I do love that blue lace top, too. Because well, lace. And me. That's just the way it is 🙂 Miss you lots, lovely!

I completely know how you feel about not liking to listen to the sound of voice. I cringe every time I hear myself too! I know it's probably just a matter of getting used to it, so I hope you'll manage to post a video one of these days! I'm sure you don't sound like a b at all 😉
