Since you’ve heard me drone on now for weeks about my upcoming trip to Maui, you may have wondered whether or not I’ll be posting from the sandy shores of Hana or Lahaina during my two week stay in paradise. The answer is a strong and unequivocal “NO”. This blog is my baby and all, but sometimes…mama just needs some alone time.
So while I’m gone, I am very fortunate to have some of the most beautiful and talented ladies in the blogosphere keeping you all entertained instead. I was so happy when Devon, Crystal, Sarah, Megan and Kate agreed to post – they all have the most enviable style and are incredibly sweet to boot, so if you haven’t become acquainted with them yet, you can get a head start now before their respective guest posts. Keep your eye out for them on this space from April 27 to May 7!
In other news…here are a few snapshots from my week. From Pender Island relaxation to Bailey being his usual weird self, my Instagram engine was kicked into full force, as per usual – I’m way too obsessed with it! My username is “tovogueorbust” – follow me if you want to see at least one beautiful puppy face, one sunset/seascape and one food porn shot per day. Those are my specialties.
My friend’s cabin (though, as I mentioned before, it’s more of a woodland spa resort or something).
Yeah…I know. Breathtakingly beautiful.
My favourite meals are usually the simplest. Here: toasted sourdough slices with avocado basil puree, parmesan shavings, tomato slices and cracked pepper. So. Good.
Bailey…not as stealth as he thinks he is.
Prepping for vacay! The first order of business = packing all beauty and fashion essentials. Bright, happy polishes from Nail Polish Canada ready to be packed.
One of our meals on Pender: wild rice risotto, spinach salad with basil vinaigrette and miso-maple-glazed salmon.
Spring!!! It may be hard to remember it now that it’s been raining steadily for the past little while, but we did have some beautiful sunshine for a bit there.
Bailey’s new pals at the dog park! They were all looking for a sunk tennis ball for like…25 minutes. Dogs have such beautifully simple minds.
Another beautiful sunny day. I love when the wind picks up how chaotically strewn the clouds become – I’ll seriously miss my runs on the Seawall when I’m in TO!
Speaking of Toronto, I have now officially signed my sublet contract and booked my flight!!! So unbelievably excited…a bit nervous too of course, but I feel really good about this new experience. As much as I love my West Coast summers, I’m excited to see what’s different about East Coast summers too. The first thing I’ll have to adjust to: calling cabins “cottages.” It just makes me giggle for some reason.
With that, I’m off! One of my bloggy besties Cee organized some going-away drinks tonight at Havana on Commercial St, so happy that I get to see some of my favourite girls before I go! Will undoubtedly have pics to post from the night for next week.
Hope you all have an amazing weekend!
