Nobody Gets Me But You

November 28, 2011

Blazer c/o Lost & Found, Club Monaco toque, tights & skirt,
Marc by Marc Jacobs bag, ring c/o Social Experiment,
H&M sweater, booties & scarf, Zara blouse

This beautiful Lost & Found blazer is the other piece Spank Clothing gifted me when I went by to visit the other day. I’ve already worn it three times since getting it last week, it’s honestly just such a great staple piece and works with my wardrobe so well. I’m also loving all the little details that set it apart from other blazers: the stitching that highlights the waist, the cute elbow patches, the woven leather buttons…I could go on and on.

The title of this post is dedicated to my wonderful boyfriend Matt. It just occurred to me the other day that it doesn’t indicate anywhere on my blog who takes my pictures, so if any of you were curious, it’s Matt! He has no photography background, so the fact that he still helps me out with it and does such an amazing job is a true testament to what a nice boyfriend he is. That, and as the title implies, he not only tolerates my extreme weirdness but embraces it (which is partially because he’s also really weird…anyone who “jokingly” refers to themselves in the third person is strange). That’s why we hang out together. So other people don’t have to deal with our “eccentricities”.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I had an amazing getaway to Whistler. I would definitely recommend the Fairmont Whistler to anyone, it was such a luxurious experience and the customer service was out of this world. Have a great Monday loves 🙂

He really does do an amazing job with your photos, Alex! My boyfriend has been helping me with outfit posts lately, which is really good of him, but he's nowhere near Matt levels yet.

I love this look on you. The colours set off your peaches and cream complexion so well, and I'm a huge fan of cozy knits.

Glad to hear you had an amazing weekend in Whistler, love! You look B-E-A-UTIFUL as always.

I think it's time we take our relationship to the next level and have a threesome… and by threesome, I mean you, me and Peter of The Starving Stylist. Matt can watch. Just kidding!!! No, but seriously, let's plan a brunch/lunch/dinner shindig one of these upcoming weekends.

I hope I'll be able to check out Whistler this season. I have never been there (the bf neither), so it would be a nice place for a weekend getaway.

I really like how many different textures are in this outfit. Texture is my favorite element of dressing. Oh and I'm a sucker for a shrunken blazer and a rolled up sleeve.

  • Reply Cee November 29, 2011 at 1:58 am

So many lovely layers! I'm always envious of layered looks, because my animal hair allergy really isn't conducive to them 😛 You already know how much I love your delicate skirt and all of the pieces piled on top of it just make it that much better, somehow. Oh, and the elbow patches on your blazer? Adorable. Can't wait to see you this weekend, love!

  • Reply Pins, Needles & Fashion November 29, 2011 at 2:25 am

Oh wow I am loving that skirt and the overall outfit! Great combo of everything, looks great.

And props to boyfriends for helping us out 🙂

Kudos to Matt for taking such wonderful pictures. Really liking your colour mix here – the pale green and pink with that cinnamony jacket. Unexpected but it works.

And yes, FS Whistler is the bomb. The only place I stay when I head up =). I got to stay in one of the deluxe townhouse units last time with a private hot tub – fantastic after a day on the slopes.
