The lovely Janice of Shoppalu is moving away to Toronto this week, so Saturday night I stopped by her going-away/shopping party and walked away with a few incredible items. I was definitely most excited to style this maxi skirt, and given that navy and black together is my favourite neutral colour combination (thanks Dior!), I knew immediately how I wanted to style it.
I ended up having an amazing weekend: a relaxed dinner at Burgoo on Friday, the Shoppalu event early Saturday night, and then drinks with my girlfriends later Saturday night (one of them is leaving for Nepal to climb to the Everest base camp – such a nutso). We’ve been so spoiled with beautiful sun over the past couple of weeks, the weather finally turned today but I have my fingers crossed for more sun later in the week, I’m always shocked by just how much sun can improve my mood.

Gorgeous maxi skirt. I have no idea why I have yet to add one to my wardrobe, but I must get on it! I'm a big fan of black and navy myself and the bag and scarf are lovely accents. Beautiful lighting, and beautiful you! xo

Black and navy are always chic! I think it's a colour combo that looks great with a dash of leopard print too.

This skirt is absolutely beautiful! Great find – love the pleats and the rich dark blue color. Must have been a pretty amazing event. Ever since I found my two sparkly jackets at a vintage store on Granville (and my awesome Coach bag at Front & Co.), I am just craving more and more beautiful vintage items. So yes, I am a bit jealous of the skirt, but hey, it's stunning so what can I say… 😉

Ah, that skirt! I loved it from the moment I saw you hold it up in Janice's kitchen, and my love has only increased since I've seen the way you styled it. Navy and black is one of my favourite combinations, just add brown and you have everything I love in a look 🙂 But your patterned scarf and bright bag are an even better match- that pop of turquoise is a winner every time. So glad we got to catch up on Saturday night, even if it was brief. Can't wait to see you again a Barefoot Contessa 🙂

I am sad I didn't make it to the Shoppalu event. I ended up passing out at 8pm from exhaustion 🙁 love the skirt (I was eying it on the website).
