What’s In My Bag, the Back to School Edition!

I don’t know why but I’ve always loved “what’s in your bag” posts.  I guess it’s that tiny bit (huge part) of voyeurism in me that loves to see what people can’t live without everyday.  I’ve done one What’s In My Bag post before but since my life has taken a new and more scholastic turn, I thought I’d give you a little peek into what journalism students have to lug around with them every day.  I know it’s a burning question that you’ve been dying to have answered, so in advance, you’re welcome.  Oh and don’t worry, I didn’t “glam” the contents up at all.  You may wish I had in a moment.

It carries ten pounds worth of stuff, is durable enough that I don’t have to fret about taking care of it, and it’s cute!  More than anything, it’s become this great piece of tackling equipment.  I literally just walk down the street and it plows people as they try to brush past me.  Obviously, this is its most appealing feature to me.

The contents…I told you, it carries everything.

If you had to settle for just five, what five items do you always have in your bag?

Since I made it to the end of my first week relatively unscathed, I thought I’d treat myself to a little something:

I’ve been dying to try this polish shade since forever and am so happy I finally got my hands on it!  I’m currently suffering from a migraine so the chances of me forcing myself out tonight are slim, might just paint my nails in Graphite, go for a very slow run, and hang out with the boyfriend.  Pretty much the most boring Friday night ever but kind of nice after such an overwhelming week, plus I have a nice Saturday to look forward to as it is!  Hope you all have a great weekend 🙂

wow you weren't kidding when you said that bag had everything in there. I guess I forget what it's like to be a student and need to tote so much around. You are prepared for anything.

    Love the Graphite polish.

I love seeing what others carry around in their bags. I usually carry around my wallet, BB, little notebook, pen, lip balm, inhaler, gum… Not very spectacular 😉

Love your new nail polish, can't wait to see it on!

I'm also a huge fan of "What's in my Bag" posts, mainly because I'm curious (read: nosey) about people's lives outside of their blogs and I always feel like a girl's purse is like her personal museum. In case you're wondering, my purse will tell you that I'm a slob; it's always filled with scrunched up receipts 😛 Not that they're essential, obviously (I never leave him without my wallet, keys, lip gloss, a pack of Excel Bubblemint and my phone.)

I hope your first week back to school went well and didn't leave you feeling completely overwhelmed. If I were you I probably would have treated myself to more than just nailpolish after the first week, but I do think graphite was an excellent choice- can't wait to see you show it off in person!

I love these posts too- I'm such a snoop and am always so interested to see what people are hauling around with them all day! I also just LOVE that bag, we might just have to be bag sisters, the more I see it the more I feel I need it!
And I'm pretty sure our bag contents are looking about the same right now, gotta love the life of a student! Though I'll add in my headphones, a paintbrush and sketch pad… and possibly some cover-up for the major bags that have been hanging around due to this new schedule!
Can't wait to see you again! xx

p.s thank you for all the gratuitous Bailey shots- I'm totally lapping up all the dog love!

That bag is amazing! I love it, and it seriously can hold your whole life, don't you just love bags that do that? 🙂 And this is totally going to inspire me to do one of these whats in my purse blog posts. 🙂 Glad your first week of school went well!

Hello! Firstly the bag is adorable & I think your contents are quite glam and fab. I can't say that my purse/bag would look anything like that. Mine is: iphone, receipts, crumpled paper, take out menus, scouts chew toy, and possibly loads of loose change. Haha, not glamorous! Your bag looks like that of a true fashionista. Great idea for a post Alex, see you on Sunday. Yay!! xo veronika

I feel your back-to-school storage woes!
I've already got a slight bruise on my shoulder from all the stuff I manage to jam into my school tote. I could never pick just 5 items. I feel the need to carry everything I own with me (hence my new attractive bruises!).

And great polish colour – I'd love to see it on
