Zara knit sweater, Club Monaco lace skirt, bracelet and camisole,
Aldo lace-up booties, H&M bracelets, Blue Ruby necklace, Erin Templeton bag,
Urban Outfitters sunglasses

The day that Matt and I shot these snaps was the first day this summer that I really felt that telltale chill in the air.  Though the weather report says that we should be expecting another week or so of sunshine, autumn is definitely on its way.  I’d had all these sunny-day activities planned, not to mention a pretty little warm-weather look set for this shoot.  So what’s a girl to do?  Throw on a huge knit over top of your original outfit and create a “fummer” look (fall + summer) of course.

This day was such a severe contrast to the wonderful weather I’d experienced over the weekend on the Sunshine Coast. If you follow me on Twitter (and if you don’t, then just mosey on over here) then you undoubtedly saw all my annoyingly incessant Instagram shots from our time on the Island.  Here’s another little taste of our liquid fun in the sun:

What I wouldn’t give to have days like this all the time.  Hope you’re all having a great “hump day”!

Alex, I'm loving this outfit and your water dancing photo shoot. I'm with you on wanting to have days like that all the time. I think you're close to a first day back look for school. 😉
    Best!

Lovely outfit! The dress and sweater look great together. I am glad to hear (well, read) that they predict at least another week of summer weather. I was already afraid the fun was over now!

Great pictures at the beach by the way!

Looks like you had a great time on the Sunshine Coat – I love it there. Also, loving your "fummer" look… that knit sweater seriously looks so comfy. Old or new Zara?

The sweater makes it (not very) long awaited debut! I love what you've done with it; I was picturing it with jeans, brown boots and a very large pair of glasses (yep, I'm in fall mode already, can't help it, it's my favourite fashion season) but over the lace dress it's so much more unexpected and creative. The dress, by the way = complete fabulousness. And I love see your La Vie necklace again, but that's my personal bias since I have the same one 🙂 Lovely to see you today. And so excited to bring my Mac home finally!

This chunky knit looks so great overtop with the feminine lace skirt. Ive been noticing the temperature dropping at night a lot lately. It sucks, but is good at the same time. I love your water pictures, so great!

I LOVE the lace skirt. As much as I love Summer fashion, I'm slowly beginning to get excited for Fall looks. What a great way to ease yourself into Fall. Love the comfy looking over sized sweater.

P.S. Your trip photos are gorgeous!

Thank you for your kind comments. I really think I'm better off sticking to bread and cookies. And I'll simply admire other people's blogs from afar.
I love how the sweater/skirt pair together. The creamy daintiness is perfect.
I live in a really rural area and there is no-one that's very fashionable. But it's lovely to get other's inspiration.

Love the outfit! Can't wait 'til it starts getting a little colder so those chunky knits and ankle bootties can be put into rotation. Such an awesome transitional look.

Damn girl what is your workout routine! I need abs like that stat! I feel utterly shafted on this whole summer weather business. My tan is unnoticeable and I have not yet gotten sick of wearing sandals instead of boots.
