During my last couple of years of school in Victoria, I biked absolutey everywhere. Mojito, my mint green Trek bike, and I were quite literally attached at the hip. Being the kind of girl who likes to look relatively pulled-together, I became a bit of an expert in terms of chic bike-dressing and drew my inspiration from the stylish girls in Europe who managed to always look completely “done” despite cruising around on their bikes all day. Of course, I had my days when I’d overslept and had to book it to school (so…half of the time), and on those occasions, spandex shorts, runners, and a workout tank were my best friends. But if I’m biking for the sake of commuting and don’t need to break a big sweat, I try to bring that European attitude towards biking here to the West Coast. Shorts, rompers, cross-body bags, and even dresses (especially if I slipped a pair of tiny shorts underneath them) were all free game for bike-dressing. I find that this Club Monaco silk romper does the trick nicely: functional but still very pretty.
