Tour de Vancouver

June 13, 2011
Wearing: Club Monaco romper, Aldo sandals,
Rebecca Minkoff bag, Urban Outfitters sunglasses,
great grandmother’s ring, street vendor necklace
During my last couple of years of school in Victoria, I biked absolutey everywhere.  Mojito, my mint green Trek bike, and I were quite literally attached at the hip.  Being the kind of girl who likes to look relatively pulled-together, I became a bit of an expert in terms of chic bike-dressing and drew my inspiration from the stylish girls in Europe who managed to always look completely “done” despite cruising around on their bikes all day.  Of course, I had my days when I’d overslept and had to book it to school (so…half of the time), and on those occasions, spandex shorts, runners, and a workout tank were my best friends.  But if I’m biking for the sake of commuting and don’t need to break a big sweat, I try to bring that European attitude towards biking here to the West Coast.  Shorts, rompers, cross-body bags, and even dresses (especially if I slipped a pair of tiny shorts underneath them) were all free game for bike-dressing.  I find that this Club Monaco silk romper does the trick nicely: functional but still very pretty.

This is soo perfect for riding around on the bike! I want a pretty bike like this for riding around town on. Too bad it's only nice enough for bike riding maybe 4 and a half months a year here.
I love this romper, such a beautiful pattern and lovely colours!

This is so adorable! Mojito is the prettiest bike I've seen in a long time, and matches so well with your outfit- definitely the most important thing about a bike 😉 xx

I freely admit it: I was staunchly anti-romper until I saw this post. I don't know how you do it, but somehow you make what looks ridiculous on most people completely enviable and so stylish. I am dying over the colour and print of this romper. And the fact that it kind of, sort of coordinates with the colour of your bike? Perfection 🙂

Alexandra! This is one of my favorite posts from you! You look so gorgeous as always! And your skin looks so healthy and radiant! The bike and the romper are made for each other. Both look so chic together! I'd love to see the dress you bought from H & M. I seriously wish I can buy clothes from H & M and Zara online! I think spending money on both a trend a staple is smart choice 🙂 xoxoxooo
