3 Second Day Hairstyles
As I mentioned last week, I have exceptionally fine hair so getting creative with my second day hairstyles is absolutely key as my hair can look kind of deflated otherwise. Myself and my lovely friend Erin of The Sparkle (who also runs beauty over at Glitter Guide) collaborated on 3 super simple (promise!) tutorials after the jump that will help extend your blowout, curls or waves from the previous day in style – click through to see them all!
You’ll need some dry shampoo (this one from One Love Organics smells like heaven), hair elastics (clear only for fine hair, clear and a sturdier one if you have thicker hair), bobby pins and if your hair is on the thicker/coarser/drier side, some serum as well such as this one (you other fine-tressed girls out there though, I’d personally say skip out on the serum as it will weigh your hair down).
Criss-Cross Low Ponytail
1. Split your hair into three sections—two in the front and one in the back.
2. Tie the back end into a low ponytail (clear elastic for fine hair, thicker elastic for thick hair).
3. Split one of the front sections into two and take the section nearest to your
face. Bring it across the ponytail and pin it about two inches
slightly past and above the ponytail.
4. Do the same on the other side, pinning beside the other pinned section.
5. Grab the remaining bottom section on the first side and it wrap around your ponytail.
Collect loose strands from the first pinned section and pin at the bottom.
6. Do the same on the other side, crossing over and then wrapping it around your ponytail.
7. Loosen a few strands to add texture. and you’re done!
Braided Half-Up Half-Down
1. Use dry shampoo to freshen up your roots & to add texture to your hair
(especially important for those of us with fine hair!).
2. Add some loose waves to your hair by roughly curling it with a flat iron or a curling rod.
If you have thicker hair, you can add some serum and run through your curls with your
fingers to break them up.
3. Create two small braids and fasten each temporarily with small elastic bands.
Loosen both up slightly by massaging with your fingers.
4. Connect them together and secure with criss-crossing bobby pins.
5. Undo the elastic bands and brush out the hair still braided below the pins.
6. Loosen a few strands around your face and if you have any flyaways, use a touch a
serum to smooth them out around your face (though I really like that roughened look!).
Low Chignon
1. Tease hair from the bottom up, concentrating on the lower half to
add texture and volume to your strands.
2. Smooth out the top layer of the hair with a brush (boar hair works well for this)
to keep it looking polished.
3. Tie your hair into a ponytail at the nape of your neck (again, clear elastics should work
for most of us fine-haired types but if you’ve got thicker hair, definitely opt for a sturdier elastic).
4. Twist your hair and gently wrap it into a knot (you don’t want to do it too tightly
and lose all that amazing texture you just teased into it!).
5. Pin as needed and then loosen a few strands around your face, mussing up the sides
slightly to keep it from looking too neat!
And that’s it! Three beyond easy looks that will keep your hair looking amazing and healthier – I really struggle with not washing every day but notice such an improvement in my scalp and hair health when I train it into lasting for at least every other day washes.
A big thank you to my girl Erin for partnering with me for this – make sure you stop by Glitter Guide to see the full feature!

2 and 4 are my favourites and I can't wait for my hair to grow longer so that I can play more with it. 🙂

The Amissio Formula Review
Like most Internet marketers, I have been given, and have bought, many internet marketing programs, and advice from the so called experts. While much of this advice has been good solid advice, if I where to focus only on one, it is this "If you truly want to make money on the internet, you MUST focus on building yourself a responsive mailing list"
