On the Road With Monos
As you guys know, I recently took my first trip without Cal ever (all the way to Sardinia!), and it was a trip filled with both excitement and nostalgia, even though I’ve never been to Sardinia before. Packing up and taking off solo from the airport brought me right back to that familiar feeling of packing for far-flung adventures and jetting off, but this time, I was leaving my little one behind. It brought me back to such an integral part of who I am, but of course, I’m also different now. I’m still a free bird at my core, but I also am much more organized and a bit more thoughtful than I was before; it even extends to my packing! Which is why I was so ecstatic to have Monos along for this trip, because their premium luggage allows you to be hyper-organized while making packing and travel easy.
I’m sure you’re familiar with Monos already, but just in case, they’re an incredible Canadian luggage brand and have been my go-to for travel gear for destinations both near and far the last couple of years. Since they’re a Vancouver-based brand (like yours truly), it feels like all the more of a perfect fit. I brought their Hybrid Carry-On with me from their limited edition Sincerely Jules collaboration, and honestly, it lived up to the hype. It combines the best features of aluminum and polycarbonate, making it super light but also ridiculously durable. The aluminum frame and corner guards give it extra protection, while the water-resistant polycarbonate shell means it can handle anything—whether it’s getting crammed into an overhead bin or rolled down cobblestone streets (performing excellently on the latter, something that’s required for these Euro trips).
I’m all about attention to detail, and that’s where Monos really shines. Everything is colour-matched—from the telescopic handle to the quiet wheels—and the suitcase has two TSA-approved locks (yes, locks – no zippers!). Inside, it’s all about staying organized, especially with the removable compression pad that makes squeezing everything in so much easier.
Speaking of organization, the Compressible Packing Cubes were a lifesaver. In all honesty I’ve never used cubes before so was a bit skeptical, but they were incredible for not only keeping everything really compact, but especially when you’re moving location-to-location every couple of days it keeps everything organized so well. They’re made from tear-resistant fabric, and the mesh top means you can see everything without rummaging through your stuff. Plus, they lay flat when you’re not using them!
Last but not least, let’s talk about the Metro Tote. This bag has quickly become my everyday staple – whether I’m heading to work or catching a flight, it fits everything I need. It’s water and scratch-resistant, and the interior pockets are perfect for keeping my laptop, passport, and random trinkets I was picking up for Cal organized. It also has a built-in trolley sleeve that slides perfectly over the suitcase handle, so it’s super easy to haul through the airport.
All of these pieces are from the unreal Sincerely Jules collaboration, which is honestly beyond incredible. The earthy tones are so chic and can be mixed and matched across the collection, whether you’re looking for a stylish tote or Monos’ signature luggage. You can check out these exclusive pieces in person at their Kitsilano store, which is great if you’re local and like to see things up close before buying. And of course, all available online as well!
So if you’re on the lookout for sleek, durable travel gear that actually makes packing a breeze, I can’t recommend Monos enough. They’ve made my return to far-flung travel feel a little more organized, stylish, and stress-free.
