A Pink Moment
As I’m typing this, the cherry blossoms outside my window are getting pretty battered by the wind and the blossoms are just flying off, landing in a beautiful (but very delicate) pink carpet below on the pavement. Having a more present life has been really front of mind lately (shared more about my thoughts on it in my birthday post!), but this is a particularly visually beautiful reminder to really appreciate every moment as it happens because all of a sudden, you blink and it’s over. Less than a week ago Alicia and I snapped these blossom-framed pictures and (despite knowing this wouldn’t be the case), it was starting to feel like these blush beauties would line my street forever as they’d really taken up a steady residence over the past few weeks. And speaking of savouring the moment as it happens, my 29th birthday just passed two days ago and it was yet another opportunity to really embrace a particularly sweet moment!

If you follow along on Snapchat (tovogueorbust) or Instagram, then you likely saw I had a really lovely getaway to my cabin on the Sunshine Coast with a few of my favourite people. It was such a wonderful and low-key way to ring in my last year of my 20s but I really had to work to just stay in the moment and soak in the birthday fun and the beauty all around me. I’m still struggling through a redesign and relaunch and it’s honestly become really stressful for me (this is my baby after all!). I’ve been feeling particularly over everything over the past week and it was so tempting to get to emails or start stressing about it again on Sunday (the big 2-9 day) but I stopped myself and realized that this day up at my cabin, sitting with the sun and the ocean in front of me with some of my most loved people (including my sister who is visiting from London!) would not happen again.
So I just checked out – we had margaritas, played with Duke (our neighbour’s chocolate lab puppy), binge watched Gilmore Girls ’cause I love it so and opened presents in bed. It was such a perfect day and I’m so happy that I was able to set some of the stressors in life aside just for the day.
So on that note, I’m going to go off to walk in this beautiful pink carpet before it too gets muckied or blows away. Happy Tuesday loves!

Sounds like a perfect weekend getaway/ bday celebration! You look enchanting and so feminine on these photos with the gorgeous blossom trees behind. Pity that they don’t last so long and are almost gone by now. Glad that you got to capture the beauty of the outfit and the nature in this post. 🙂
Such a lovely look!
