The day after our packed trip to Hana (see the full post here) we set off again from our place in Mā’alea (really suggest staying there, PS – nice and quiet) to meet all the girls in the wedding at O’o Farm in beautiful Kula upcountry. Kula has this microclimate that is much cooler than the rest of the island, with the farm tucked among Kula’s mist-covered, rolling green hills. We had to stop along the way to snap shots on these lava rock walls (which proved to be super uncomfortable and sharp, hence the kind of less-than-ideal pose) – though I couldn’t last long, it was at least an opportunity to showcase these Sole Society sandals that I’ve been wearing tons and my go-to summer dress from Joe Fresh! Both got a ton of use over the vacation!

Aside from the magical views around us, the experience at O’o Farm was amazing too. We did a tour of the organic farm and then enjoyed a fresh lunch made by Chef JJ Johnson from the produce we picked right there. While I’m not an expert in the field, I personally always feel like a lot of my dietary things seem to calm down when I’m eating locally and naturally, sourcing foods in their whole, unmodified forms from local providers (something which is fortunately pretty easy to do in Maui). It was definitely so inspiring to see a group of people so committed to providing such high quality food from their own land.

I can’t wait to share some more of my trip next week, but in the meantime, I’m dragging my sick ass out to the Sunshine Coast to hopefully recuperate at the cabin! I hope you all have an amazing weekend!
