I don’t know about you guys but it seems that holiday party invites start popping up in my inbox earlier and earlier each year. The holidays are my favourite time of the year but I find the party circuit can get exhausting, least of all because you’re never more continuously challenged to come up with standout looks on the regular. Especially now that the season starts so early, you’ve really got to start planning ahead of time! So with that being said, I’m bringing some early holiday style inspo to you this year, beginning with the combo that I’m most excited to wear – the seasonally appropriate but super chic midi skirt + cropped sweater duo! This combo is my favourite because it’s not only on-trend (cropped sweaters + midi skirts have both been going really strong this season!) and a super chic winter look, but it actually keeps you warm once the temperature dips! It’s refreshing to just throw on a coat and still stay warm rather than having to layer up a ton over top of a little cocktail dress.
Also love how a cropped sweater tones down a standout skirt like this 424 Fifth one (similar one here!). I honestly have been all about the midi skirts for some time now (more examples here and here and here) and am planning on really celebrating this love over the holidays – so easy to create a high-impact look with a strong pop of colour and a basic top!
