Boys Don’t Cry
Blazer c/o Shoppalu, H&M tank, necklace & ring,
Club Monaco clutch, Zara pants, Michael Kors heels
When the lovely ladies at Shoppalu gifted me this vintage menswear-inspired blazer, I decided I really wanted to draw the focus to it and give it some structure. I layered my fitted black Club Monaco blazer underneath it to define the lapels and then threw on my much-loved and -worn leather belt from Mexico into a loose knot around my waist. The result? A menswear-inspired look that still has some feminine structure!
So this week has been “dailies” week, in which we turn our schedule from a weekly publication to putting out a paper every day. It’s actually been really fun despite the obviously increased stress levels…I’m such a procrastinator and work much more effectively when I have a finite amount of time to work with, so it’s been great to cover some really fun or important stories in a really in-depth and condensed way. I did a really interesting story about the battle for legal aid yesterday (which I have some already-invested interest in as my dad is a lawyer), and am working on a story about how to look festive for holiday parties without looking kitschy today. It’s kind of cool to cover such a huge range of topics over such a short amount of time!
Anyway, I’m so close to the end…after this week, I have one more big project and then I’m done, done, done!!! Hope all you lovelies are having a great week so far, and just to creep you out…happy humpday!
Loving the combination here! Club Monaco clutch is to die for!

I just love what you did with this blazer, Alex, it's not at all what I was expecting when I first saw it – it's better! I don't know why on earth I've never thought of belting a blazer before, I will have to try it immediately 🙂 So glad to hear you're finally almost at the end of the semester. [Oh, and if you could give me tips on how to get things done in a finite amount of time, that would be great… I have a deadline Friday and my article does not have one word yet.] Can't wait to see you so so soon, love!
