Good Things Come in Small Packages

Whether or not you’ve noticed it, there’s been a growing trend going on in the accessory world…bags have been getting smaller and smaller and smaller (in fact, they’re downright mini). From model-off-duty street style stars like Gigi Hadid or Emily Ratajkowski to style bloggers, the oversized tote has been decidedly overtaken by more luxe and petite bags, usually of the cross-body variety (which just so happens to be my particular favourite, not only for its serious it-factor this season but because it’s honestly the most functional).

I recently ordered the bag to end all (mini) bags and I am so in love. While so many of us are committed to packing everything everywhere we go, I’ve found limiting myself to a cross-body bag not only helps up my style game (seriously, as stylish as a large bag can be, it’s pretty easy to cross into bag lady territory when you’re carrying your whole day with you), it’s also helped me a lot from an efficiency perspective! I pack only the essentials now and find the rest of the day falls into a much more efficient line as a result of that!

Getting down to the important details though: how to style it! Really, it goes amazingly with any outfit, which is also a huge part of the appeal. I love taking advantage of the cross-body strap to choke up the length of it, worn right over my hip. With an oversized knit and black skinnies as worn here, it’s a perfect daytime look, but for night, I love the idea of this with a dark floral print dress (all the fall feels!) and a black leather moto jacket to offset the femme vibes of the dress! Perfect for date night.
