While I might not work in an office setting anymore, I get requests for stylish yet appropriate workwear options more than anything. To me, that makes perfect sense—for many of us, 5 days a week we’re posed with the challenge of looking professional and polished, but for the style-inclined among us, traditional workwear could use a serious sartorial revamp. Fortunately, Express’s Studio line has so many incredible work-apropos pieces that will take you from the office to wherever life leads you in style (and most importantly, even if you’re not there yet, you’ll feel like a boss during your workday). Click through to hear my tips on work-to-play style with Express for this fall!
First of all, while Express has some seriously killer dress pants like the Editor and the Columnist pants (I tried on both and they’re both such great fits!), I love the idea of stepping outside of the box with an option that’s still entirely work-apropos: culottes! Honestly, I’ve worn these already 3 times since picking them out recently. Whether worn with a cropped sweater and booties for casual weekend hangouts, with a blazer and blouse for your Monday grind or with a leather jacket and crop top for a night out, when the fit is on-point (as it is with these beauties from Express) and the colour is an easy one to pair with other pieces (does it get easier than black?), you might be looking at one of the hardest-working pieces in your wardrobe.
Another option I love that follows that appropriate-yet-fashion-forward vein is opting for a jacket that gives a bit of an edge. Other than the fact that this Bordeaux wine tone is beyond swoon-worthy (can you think of a better colour for fall?!), the moto cut of this textured knit jacket gives a cool vibe to the whole look while again, being entirely appropriate for most workplaces. If you think this might be pushing the boundaries a bit if your workplace is more conservative, then don’t worry—I’ve got you covered! Express has so many amazing women’s suits, pencil skirts and dress pants, so even though you’re sticking to work norms in terms of cut, you can play around with pattern, colour and texture.
A big thank you to Express for partnering with me for this post! #ExpressPartner

Love it! I will definitely need to check Express out. Ever since I started working in a corporate office I have been in serious need of outfit ideas and inspiration as to where to shop!
I can definitely see why you get requests to talk about more professional outfits. There's WAY too many fashion crimes being committed everyday in the office settings. I guess people just feel uninspired?
I don't work in a traditional office setting either, but if I did, I would absolutely wear an outfit like this. You look great!
