If you followed along on Snapchat (@tovogueorbust) and Instagram over the weekend, then you’ll believe me when I say…I’m pooped. From an amazing whirlwind getaway to Whistler to an all-day party to a full hike yesterday, as incredible as it all was, I feel like today needs to be about getting a bit of a balance back before the rest of the week gets away from me. It’s kind of a back-down-to-basics, balanced approach that this outfit is all about: a relaxed pairing of black and white, minimalist and visual interest. So whether it’s sartorially speaking or life in general, I’m sharing a few of my no-fail tips on getting back to your happy medium when you’ve gotten a bit off track after the jump – click through to read it all!

First of all, like life itself, whether I’ve gotten off track style-wise or otherwise, it’s always all about getting back to basics. Either opting for simple black and white or just making sure I get my feel-good essentials in (good food, exercise, rest and meditation) and not overcomplicating things makes such a difference.
I’m also in desperate need of reducing option overwhelm this week – last week I had a lot on the go which was amazing, but I’m trying to bring down my commitments this week and rest up at home more. Also batch cooking my meals to make for easy, healthy male each day and keeping my workout times consistent makes a huge difference. Same goes with my style – if life in general has felt hectic or if I find myself going crazy in front of my closet, desperately trying to pull together an outfit and not loving anything, I resort to my capsule closet I create every couple of weeks to easily pull together a look.
What do you guys do when life gets a little crazy or you wear your body down over a few weeks? Tell me in the comments!

Love the colors in this look! Usually when my life gets a little too crazy a schedule in a half hour for something that I really want to do and totally disconnect. It helps me regroup and taking little breaks throughout the day helps too 🙂
