Aches and Layers

November 7, 2012

Timberland boots, jeans c/o Fidelity Denim, Club Monaco coat, H&M tank, Zara sweater,
cardigan c/o Banana Republic, Marc by Marc Jacobs bag, earrings c/o Poshlocket

This is what I wore to an event for Lifetime Collective yesterday: layers, layers, layers. The event was held at the stunning Vancouver Urban Winery, and a few blogette friends and I sipped on some wine while checking out the brand’s spring collections. Let’s just say I’m obsessed – I’m absolutely loving the label’s modern take on classics with a West Coast vibe. And what’s more, they originally hail from Vancouver – definitely worth checking out!
Anyway, I needed to be as comfortable as possible because the most toned late-’50s-something woman in the world completely kicked my tuckus in a step and resistance training class the night before. I may be pretty strong usually when it comes to weight training but this class really did me in – I literally had to take a break from typing, my shoulders were so sore! So there’s your lesson for the day: never think you’re stronger or more spry simply based on your age. An almost 60-something woman with a love for ’80s step class classics may just run your ass into the ground.

I adore your coat and scarf – I especially love the fact that you let a bit of red peak out, which instantly adds a pop of color! I love how you layered this look. It looks so cosy!

There's a new post up on my blog right now and I'd love to hear your thoughts on it so feel free to stop by anytime! 🙂 x

This post seriously made me laugh – and reminded me of my old step class instructor in Winnipeg, who was in her mid-50s and overweight but kicked my ass EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I don't know how that woman moved the way she did, but seriously. Jumping jacks til the cows came home. I digress… You are looking lovely as always, pally. I'm loving the layered cardigans!

I am loving all the layers!! You look so cozy and chic, I definitely need to bust out the layers for all the snow we got today.
That's so funny about the older lady, yeah sometimes I see some of them at the gym and they are whooping me at everything I'm doing!!

Haha – I can totally relate! I took a boot camp class yesterday and the instructor was probably in her 40's or 50's and I was dying!!
