Flashback to Prom

This outfit post is very near and dear to my heart because it features my absolute favourite dress ever – my prom dress. I remember finding this 60’s mini-dress in Used, this awesome vintage store on Granville Street in Vancouver. The girl selling it to me was so happy that it had finally found an owner…apparently it was one of those dresses that everyone gets excited about, tries on, then for one reason or another, decides it’s not for them.

Thankfully, it was love at first sight and first try for me. I loved how it looked on so much that, despite being obscenely short, I decided to wear it to prom; needless to say, my tiny dress definitely stood out next to all the other girls’ appropriately lengthed prom gowns. That was me in a nutshell as an eighteen year old: always trying to piss off my parents with my risqué ensembles! Ooooh memories of my youth…

Wearing:
Vintage 60’s mini-dress
Betsey Johnson silver bow heels
Vintage pop-art ring

One last thing: since I’m on the brink of finishing my degree and about to bust out of this joint, this shoot was probably my last one with Anne McHale. I just want to give Anne a huge thank you for being such an amazing photographer – I’m so happy I got to work with you!

Tie-front dresses can be flattering. So if you're looking for a fabulous outfit this spring, then choose multi-colored tie-front dresses.

Such an awesome find! This dress would stand out anywhere, even a wholesale clothing store. You made the right choice-the fact you can wear your prom dress over and over again is hot!
