3.1 Phillip Lim

February 18, 2011

3.1 Phillip Lim was, in my personal opinion, one of the best shows out of fashion week for sure. I love that his inspiration for the collection was “girls on bikes”…it seems like an odd reference point at first, but at the same time it makes sense. All the pieces are quintessentially cool “it” pieces, yet they’re entirely functional and unfussy. I feel like I could see any number of these looks on one of the cool girls wizzing by on a bike that the likes of the Sartorialist or Mr. Newton always shoot. Though the collection has gotten some mixed reviews (Style.com’s wasn’t especially glowing), I love this collection and the aesthetic really spoke to me.

Have a woooooonderful Friday everyone! It’s my dear friend Lisa’s birthday tonight so the night’s bound to be lots of fun/really messy. Hopefully things don’t get too out of hand. Also looking forward to tomorrow as the boyfriend and I are gonna head out for a little one-night getaway. Will post pics from the trip soon :). Have a great weekend my lovelies!

Hi Alexandra!! I thought this collection was a little bit boring but I can see they are classic pieces that will last a lifetime and a girl can make it look really unique with the pieces she already owned in her closet. Have a fun birthday party tonight and hope you and your boyfriend had a relaxing weekend 🙂 xoxoxoo

I love this collection, generally colour combos and classic lines, and it also seems to be quiet wearable. Thanks for sharing with us! xox
