As I mentioned in a past post, I’ve been gearing up to start applying for internships for this September when I will be done with my degree. While browsing some fashion career sites, I noticed that some of the positions posted were freelance jobs. Given that I’m stuck here finishing up school, I thought I’d applied to one of them, cross my fingers, and hope for the best!
Luckily for me, the good people at DailyFashionJobs.com seem to want me on board and I’m beginning a freelance internship with them! The position is to blog for Fashion Diaries, which will be launching in early June (I’ll provide a link when it’s up and running). Pretty much, it’s a fashion career blog documenting the lives of girls like me who are just getting their foot into the fashion industry door.
Anyway, I am hugely excited to get the ball rolling and to keep heading forward with my dreams! It sounds strange to say, but even after all the time and effort I spent earlier this year applying for law schools and writing my LSAT, going to law school has been the last thing on my mind for awhile now. I’m really happy that I snapped out of the mentality that I needed to find a “secure job” and recommitted to making it in an industry that involves what I’ve always been passionate about…fashion and writing.
I really want to thank all the readers who have supported this blog…had it not been for you and your wonderful feedback, I may not have had the confidence or writing material to apply for this position! I am obviously going to be writing on this blog just as much as I always have, but hopefully you can check out the new one as well when it starts up!
