As you guys might already know, I definitely err to the more natural side of beauty. Having said that, the one thing I can’t do without is mascara—without adding some definition and length to my lashes, I just feel ever so slightly too bare faced. Revlon’s new Ultimate All-in-One Mascara has become a quick new favourite (if its name is any indication, it’s really a multi-tasker which I love in a beauty product). Read on to discover how I achieve a subtle daytime smoky eye with this wonder product!
After creating a very basic, light face (touch of concealer, powder and blush), I apply the lightest shade of my Revlon ColorStay 16 Hour Eyeshadow in Decadent to my whole eyelid.
Using the second darkest shade, I add some subtle definition to my crease, really blending out to create a diffused effect.
With the darkest shade, I edge the colour right into my lash line, again diffusing it with a soft brush to smoke it out.
Finally, a quick curl with my trusty (and gold!) eyelash curler and then the magic—the mascara! I love how the Revlon Power Mini Brush gets to every lash, imparting length, volume, definition, lift and intense colour even in areas that are usually hard to get to properly, from the inner corner all the way to my bottom lashes. I like to use the wand as I normally would for the midsection of my lashes (facing roughly horizontally to the ground) but since I’m such a fan of that feline-esque eye, I tilt it at a vertical and really paint on every lash using the small applicator in my outer lashes (I also do the same but less intensely for the inner lashes). I usually skip out on lower lashes for daytime, subtle looks, but would definitely hold the wand at a vertical to really access each of those delicate lower lashes for a more glam, wide-eyed look in the evening.
A swipe of tinted lip balm and I have a delicate, natural daytime look that’s beyond easy to build upon for after-office drinks later in the evening! Shop this new beauty kit essential here!
