When my back first spasmed and completely took me out last Tuesday, the thought immediately following “what the hell is happening to me?” was “what if I can’t go to the Araxi Longtable Dinner?!” That is how excited I was for this experience, and I’m so happy that with the help of my physio and Emaan, one of my best friends who basically made sure I stayed in one piece all weekend on top of being great company, I was able to make it! It was absolutely worth the effort and to describe the whole experience (from the dinner itself set in the most magical place to our stay at Nita Lake Lodge) as special would be a major understatement. Click through to take in the full experience!

The Araxi Longtable Dinner brought out 200+ people from across the province and beyond to beautiful North Arm Farm, which you might remember was where Alicia and Adam’s wedding was just a couple weekends ago! It is truly a breathtaking spot, and I’m so lucky to have had a chance to visit it not once but twice this summer.
As the name suggests, a long table is placed out in the valley, with unreal views from either side of the majestic mountains, the stunning farmland of course, the incredible food placed right in front of us prepared by none other than Chef James Walt, the genius behind the sensory magic on our plates. Of course, the lovely Samantha Rahn (the sommelier at Araxi) was also on hand to pair the perfect BC wine with each of our courses, and pastry chef Aaron Heath blew us all away with the final (sweet) course.
A big thank you to the incredible team at Toptable Group for having us – an experience of a lifetime to be sure. Also have to give a shout out to both my girl Emaan for basically helping me move throughout and to Erin and Roberto for being so sweet and getting us out there – so many lovely people helping out this cripple right here (though hey, making major progress this week!).
We had the beautiful Nita Lake Lodge as our retreat over the whole weekend – I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Tucked away across from Creekside right next to Nita Lake, the lodge is such a luxurious, cozy getaway. I love that it’s the perfect destination for summer (with paddle board, kayak and canoe rentals available free of charge to explore the lakes, plus tons of paths through the stunning forest to meander along) and for winter – I can’t think of anywhere I’d rather be when the snow starts coming down than cozied up in one of the lodge’s many hot tubs. On top of the incredible Araxi long table experience, we also had amazing food at Nita, from cocktails and snacks at the Cure lounge to a truly great brunch at Aura Sunday morning.
Of course, no weekend in Whistler would be complete without a stop by Scandinave Spa, which incidentally was exactly what I needed for my back. The therapeutic baths totally helped relax my not just tense but straight up spasming muscles and helped me unwind just in time for a girls night with two more of our girlfriends who had just come in town.
Speaking of my spasming muscles, a little update! I’ve not wanted to mention it as the stress and anxiety of it has actually been eating away at me, but after being super freaked out that we’d have to cancel our Greece trip because of my back, my physio has basically given me the go-ahead to keep planning it based off of my recovery so far. So happy and so happy to have that weight off my shoulders!!! I’ve honestly been working my ass off at recovering (which sounds kind of ironic since you’re really supposed to rest), from being super stringent with my stretches 4 times a day to being exceptionally good about what I’m putting in my body (lots of muscle-repairing good proteins, boosting my intake of Vitamin C and B12 which are both critical for recovery, etc).
As any active person knows, there’s nothing worse than being forced to basically “take it easy” for an indefinite amount of time, but the payoff of taking care of myself has been so worth it. Not only can I get back to planning Greece (which totally went on hold for a bit there), but I have been feeling more like myself period – I even managed to get in a 1K swim and a rather decent 5K walk yesterday! Having said that, I’m only now able to stand and work for extended periods of time (I’m trying not to sit at all as that seems to put a lot of compression on my spine), so please bear with me if I’m still a bit slower with the posts! Just happy that I’m able to start getting back to all the exciting projects I have in the works, slowly but surely. Thank you as well to everyone who’s sent me sweet snaps or messages – I honestly think they’ve contributed to my recovery! Happy Friday my loves!

Discusses the struggle that many entrepreneurs and businesses experience with generating leads for list building or sales. Beginning to understand how to create an effective lead generation process can be the knowledge which turns and struggle into a success.
