If you guys follow me on Instagram, you likely saw that my girl Alicia and I were off at Squamish Valley Music Festival this past weekend with Gentle Fawn (and coincidentally, I’m headed back that way to Whistler today to celebrate this beautiful girl’s wedding in Pemberton!). Music, ample festival style pickings thanks to Gentle Fawn and friends – other than camping (more on that after the jump), it was such an incredible weekend! Can’t get over how beautiful the setting for the festival is.
We honestly had so much fun the entire weekend but I think we realized one thing as a group, with the exception of my little sister Izzy who’s still quite young and spry…we’re maybe a little too old to camp. Well, to camp at a festival – I still love camping. I did camp with a massive group at Sasquatch years ago and had an amazing time, but with close quarters in the campgrounds at Squamish, what we thought would be a fun outdoorsy experience at night was more like having a bunch of drugged out guys who were stationed next to us literally falling on our tent or sitting on our heads, shouting about all the drugs they did/were in the process of doing literally all night. I think we got collectively 4 hours of sleep over the two nights as a group, so it’s really a testament to the amazing music, general positivity of the group and our rescue strategy Saturday (going to Scandinave Spa…you know you’re old when…) that we managed to still have an amazing time.
Of course, it also didn’t hurt that we had incredible festival style to look forward to each day. It sounds trite but seriously, if I feel rundown but have something to look forward to style-wise, it really does lift my spirits. And best of all, just for you, Gentle Fawn is extending some of its amazing style to you at a great discount!

And with that, I’m off! I’m so excited to have a luxurious weekend away in Whistler (from dinner tonight at Araxi to Scandinave Spa on Sunday to what will definitely be an incredible stay at First Tracks Lodge), but most importantly, I’m so excited to see my girl Alicia‘s special day tomorrow. She’s such a wonderful human and our friendship is one of my great blessings from the blogging world. I’m so happy to get to share this special day with her and Adam (her soon-to-be hubby who is such an incredible guy himself) and of course, I’ll be sharing tidbits on Instagram so keep your eye out there to see the beautiful bride and groom’s big day!
