TGIF! It didn’t take me long to get over my jet lag (big believer in staying awake on planes and then forcing yourself to stay up until at least 10.30PM when you land so that you exhaust yourself into getting on track with a time zone!) but everything else in my life has just exploded…everywhere. My luggage, papers stacked all over my desk, etc. I’m so excited to get back on track this weekend, hopefully culminating in an amazing brunch just like this one featured on Glitter Guide yesterday! Click through to see some extra snaps from the feature!
You’ll have to stop by Glitter Guide to get the inside scoop on Alicia, Katie, Brit & I’s brunch-on-a-shoestring tips, but I’ll say this much – Alicia and I winged this production-wise and at the end of the day, it was really all about making things as low-effort during the brunch and making use of things we already had (tablecloths, placemats, citrus fruits I had already for my juices, etc). I’ve hosted get-togethers or brunches before where I was running up and down from our patio to the kitchen because I picked something that needed tending to or that was high-effort and I always felt like I was adding a hectic undertone to the gathering – make life easy on yourself and pick a signature recipe that you can make ahead of time (I love these pancakes but I have to say I really love the idea of a yogurt-muesli-granola-fruit bar with some signature granola blends or something equally low-effort).
A big thank you to Katie and Brit for their incredible talents in beauty and photography respectively (and Katie was also a perfect model too, what a stunner!) and of course, a massive thank you to Alicia for being one of my favourite people to partner with ever! Also, thanks to Veuve Clicquot for the champagne – such a lovely addition. Finally, a big thank you to the amazing people at Glitter Guide (Carrie and Caitlin, you’re the best!) for always being so great to work with.
And with that, I’m off to get my life in order! I can’t stress enough that our place is a total disaster right now. Typing this post out with my suitcase lying open next to me and my carry-on duffle spilling over on the floor, plus a bunch of delivery notes next to me to track down today. Wish me luck guys and happy weekend to all of you!
