3 Days of Waves With TRESemmé

Whether you’re at a festival or at the beach, summertime is all about laid-back beauty and hair. As someone who has straight, fine hair, the season is also the only time of the year that I can get some movement and texture in my tresses, usually achieved by long days swimming in the ocean. For those days that I can’t run off to the beach though, I’ve become utterly reliant on TRESemmé’s Perfectly (un)Done Waves™ line, which is why I’m so excited to share 3 different styles using the line today! Click through to see them all!

Beachy
I’ve been a beach bum my whole life so it’s only natural I crave the hair to go along with it, even if my stubbornly straight hair doesn’t always comply without a little boost from some product. By sprtizing some of TRESemmé’s Sea Salt Spray with sea kelp extract on my damp hair and then scrunching it as it air dries, I get that effortless beachy texture and movement right away! If I’m in a rush or want to add even more wave, I simply twist my strands while blowing out my hair into spirals, letting them cool down after they’ve dried fully then raking my fingers through them.
*Bonus tip: If you want to keep this style going for another day, put your hair in a braid overnight and then spritz on a bit more spray the next day!
Boho
If I’m going for a relaxed bohemian look (think music festivals, laid-back events, etc), then I reach right away for TRESemmé’s Wave Creation Sea Foam (also with sea kelp extract!). Since my hair’s fine, I’ll just use a couple pumps to keep my style weightless and flowing, and then I’ll do a rough dry with my blowdryer while scrunching it and forming some loose waves with my fingers. While my hair’s drying, I power up my curling wand and add a few face-framing loose curls around my face and near the crown of my head. One more comb-through with my fingers and I’m set!
*Bonus tip: If you’re planning on staying out with this look all day, spritz TRESemmé’s Ultra Brushable Hold hairspray under your curls to ensure they don’t get weighed down while maintaining your style.
Glam
For me, glam in the summer still needs to have a laid-back approach—whether it’s beauty, style or my hair, I don’t want anything to look overdone. Having said that, for a wedding or a big to-do, I do want to look a bit more pulled together and polished. If I’m needing to up the ante waves-wise, I follow the exact same steps as my boho look but, to add more elegance, I change my part over to the side to create a dramatic tucked-behind-one-ear look, curl my whole head toward my face except for one face-framing piece on the untucked side and really focus on adding tighter curls. Once they’ve cooled down, I brush them out thoroughly until they begin to blend together.
*Bonus tip: You can lightly tease your crown before you begin curling to add a bit more oomph to the style, which will also keep your look going for longer if you’re sweating it out on the dance floor or sweltering in the summer heat!
