French Dog Blues

Skirt & sweater c/o 424 Fifth, 3.1 Phillip Lim bag c/o Target Canada,
heels c/o Seychelles, H&M sunglasses

I don’t think it’s fair to play favourites in most things (I’m a middle child, obviously) but I’ve got to admit…this 424 Fifth skirt is easily my favourite new piece in my closet. Red, femme and perfect. To call it a statement piece though would be an understatement – I wore this around Granville Island the other day to pick up flowers and though I didn’t really think twice when wearing it out, it was definitely attention grabbing. Ended up getting stopped by a few people in the five minutes I was there, which was both awesome and also a bit overwhelming.
As much as I love a really femme, romantic look, tempering the girly vibe of this skirt with edgier shoes, unkempt wavy hair and a cute yet staple sweater helps make it feel a bit more wearable and more “me.” Other options to toughen it up: leather jacket, booties, nubby sweater or a basic crop top!
If you want to shop the skirt, sweater or any of 424 Fifth’s other amazing offerings yourself and happen to be in Vancouver, be sure to stop by the Bay tonight! The lovely Joy Pecknold will be kicking off the line’s launch and it will definitely be worth attending!
On another note, I am so happy and honoured about being included in Who What Wear’s Best New Style Bloggers to Bookmark Now roundup. I’m included alongside some of my favourite style bloggers and it all just feels a bit surreal. Thank you to all of you as always for your amazing support – feels very special to be recognized in this way and I’ve had so many amazing emails and messages about it since it went live Sunday night.

Love love love that sweater! I'll be in Vancouver Easter weekend and am so excited to shop at the Bay. The one in Halifax is nowhere near as good as Vancouver. Congrats on your WWW honor – well deserved! xo

A big congratulations on the nod from WhoWhatWear…very exciting!! And talk about a look that's perfectly edgy-chic!! I love the way you toned down the "cocktail" feel of the skirt with the fun sweater…and those shoes are simply to-die-for!!
