Denim on denim may be a tricky style to pull off, but done properly, it’s a truly chic look. I’ve had so much amazing luck at Old Navy in the past when hunting for denim, so naturally, it was my go-to stop for this denim-on-denim look. There are an infinite number of styles at Old Navy to choose from (at an affordable price, no less), and I find that thanks to the stretch that their pieces have, I always score pieces that are just as comfortable as they are stylish.
When styling an all-denim look, you only need to adhere to one trick: contrast is your friend! If you go for a full look in light denim, you’re running into dangerous country-star-gone-wrong territory. I generally find the simplest formula is dark on bottom, light on top, but of course that’s just me…there are endless options for mixing and matching your denim pieces.
Got it? Good! Now put this trick to the test and head to Old Navy, where all young adult denim is on sale from now until August 29th! Styles start at the very affordable $19 mark—all the more reason to start flaunting your denim-on-denim styling prowess. Another bonus is that this is a great transitional look: worn with a sweater or blazer in a few months, you’ll be just as fall-ready as you are summer-chic now!

This is my kind of Canadian tuxedo! That necklace is insane paired with the denim. And I've also always had pretty good luck with jeans at Old Navy…

That gooorgeous J crew necklace is the ideal accent to an otherwise casually/basic outfit — though I can never get enough of my denim shirts and jeans!

I always thought denim on denim was really tricky… but you pull it off so well! As you said, contrast is our friend here, and mixing denim of different consistency and stretches works the best.

Also, that Jcrew necklace is to die for!
