I sat on the Digital Influencers panel at Founders Collective, a recent event celebrating local female entrepreneurs and innovators, this past weekend. While as usual, I have no idea what I even said/if it was anything worth absorbing, I was very inspired by all the amazing advice and insight that the other women had there. As it happens, right before heading over to the event, I’d had coffee with the lovely Jen of her waise choice (who gave me these stunning Coach studs as a birthday gift…of course she has impeccable taste in gifts!) and we were chatting about how when it comes to setting high/lofty goals and really demonstrating a lot of drive, it’s the women in our lives who seem to be really moving forward full-steam.

Of course, I know of tons of guys around my age who are doing incredibly, but it does seem like now more than ever, almost every woman I’m close to has an incredible amount of ambition, innovation and motivation to succeed. It could just be that I’ve been lucky enough to surround myself with inspiring women, but I’m curious…do you feel like there’s been an influx of ambitious women in your life as well?

I don't find there's an influx of ambition women in my life unfortunately. I tend to see mostly men strive for more, career wise. Perhaps it's because my group of friends are mostly content in their jobs, they're not really looking for more? Sounds like it's highly motivating to be surrounded by ambitious women – kind of wish I had more to look up to in my life!

I love that dress so much on you! It seems so easy to wear! 🙂

Lovely dress! I totally agree! While the men around me have ambitions, they don't seem super driven to get there. Maybe it's because men have always gotten a job and it's the norm. But women haven't always worked, so we want to prove to ourselves and the world that we can do this, that we can be ambitious and turn that ambition into a great job!

It's so great to watch women taking charge and following their dreams. Women are not settling anymore like they used to. They know what they want and are going after it.

I've been fortunate to always be surrounded by ambitious women and like to think it rubbed off on me in the sense of my personal ambition to pursue my PhD and be successful as an academic — I had a lot of great role models to follow! Unrelatedly, I love that Zara dress, the colour-blocking is great and that blue shade is so pretty.

Love those heels! And yes, women seem to be moving full-steam ahead and no longer letting men dictate what they can and cannot do. Definitely inspiring to see!
