A blogger on her own already draws enough attention. Shooting pictures in the street (especially when you’re doing “detail shots”…it just looks weird) creates enough of a spectacle on its own to make people take notice.
So try throwing four bloggers together for brunch. Especially in a particularly “colourful” area of East Van…not only would the group’s camera-happy members draw attention anywhere with our flash photo shoot, but where we were hanging out, lots of the “locals” will try to get in on the action too. I’m not one to judge (that’s a joke), but if someone comes stumbling out of an alleyway and proceeds to sway on the spot as they stare at us, I will not feel too inclined to hand over my SLR so that they can “take a proper picture” of all of us.
The absolute highlight of my bloggerathons though: seeing my lovely blogettes. Two of my faves: Peter and Lily.
And my girl Matina (aka BP)! Love her necklace! Also, it’s her birthday today – her Twitter handle is @angela_matina if you want to give her birthday wishes!

I did a casual brunch look loosely based on this Olivia Wilde outfit that’s been floating around the net. I got these Chucks at the Converse press review I went to the other week and love them! I used to have five pairs in rotation and somehow lost them all in my move from Victoria to Vancouver a couple years ago. So happy to be reunited with the classic and always effortlessly cool style!
You know what I’ve never understood? People who are too insecure to hang out with really, really, ridiculously good looking people (by that I mean people who just have some striking aspirational qualities).
I love that every single one of my friends is beautiful inside and out, stylish and cool (well, a few of my non-blogger friends aren’t as crazy about dressing up all the time, but the other two factors are constants). Why wouldn’t you want to surround yourself with people who are inspiring and who make you want to try a bit harder?
The above three are definitely some of the most beautiful and uniquely stylish people I know, and I’m definitely always in awe of them. If you haven’t checked out Peter, Lily or Matina’s blogs yet…theeeen…you should. You will be endlessly inspired, both by their words and their images!
I’ve realized as I’m prepping for my move that I’m truly spoiled here in Van with all my amazing blogger friends. Hope I get to meet some new bloggers when I’m in Toronto, though I will definitely miss the family we have here!
In other news…I’m less than a week from being done my journo program…forever! And then it’s my birthday on the 10th, hallelujaaaaaaaaaah!!! Long live April, so happy the winter is finally behind us, spring is always such a happy time of year for me!

Here actually some supermarkets have run out of regular eggs and chocolate eggs due to the high demand, haha. Let's hope they get some more before Friday when it's holiday here and the supermarkets are closed. This week has been stressful but tomorrow is the last workday for this week so I can't complain! 🙂 And I've taken this week as a challenge so I think I've learned a lot! I've been working as a sostitute this week for our PR coordinator.
Ahhh a whole GROUP of crazy people on the street taking photos?! Love it. I always get the weirdest stares – most native New Yorkers have seen street style being shot before but it's always the tourists who stop and gawk. So awkward.
Well, look at y'all!!! The BEST looking bunch on the block…how can one not stop and stare ;D Gorgeous ensemble hun…love the minty tidbits, great transitional look! What I wouldn't give to be brunching in BC right now! I used to visit so often when I lived in Portland…ahhhh memories!

the photos are great! yes it's true, taking photos on the street may cause strange looks from some people. But i normally don't take detail shoots, I just take normal photos and use gimp to zoom to the details!
